A collection of images and past projects, including a proposed, but ultimately rejected, cover for a Thorold Blackhawks' program. I still think it was the best one we ever did. I actually hired a graphic artist to create an image with the idea of a shadowy, comic book-like image reminiscent of early comics like The Shadow. I didn't like what was developing so sat down one morning with an encyclopedia of birds book borrowed from the Thorold Library and began playing in Illustrator and Photoshop for the next three hours. To my surprise, I rather liked what came out of the effort and that's the image shown here. I later found out the team's executive had approved the cover, but a "breakdown in communications" resulted in an order for a more traditional cover. On the upside, every year we designed the program, The St. Catharines Standard named it "Best program in the Golden Horseshoe Jr. B League." I don't think they realized there was a connection with The Thorold News.
